About Lauren

Lauren holds a BA in Psychology, a double MA in Special Education and Philosophy and a PhD in Developmental Psychology with a special focus on Child and Adolescent development.

For the past ten years, Lauren has been running a successful counseling service in the Bay Area for families whose children are facing challenges associated with learning disabilities, anxiety, depression, deficits in interpersonal skills, oppositional behaviors, autistic spectrum issues, and various others.

Disruptive behaviors and emotional disregulation often ensue in family dynamics involving these challenges, which can get in the way of family relationships, peer connection, learning, growing, and thriving.

Lauren trains her own counsellors to meet any challenge in a professional, caring way and work with the parents to achieve a successful outcome.

Lauren has always maintained a soft spot for children with behavioral dysregulation, from the time that she first entered the field she consistently sought out the kids who wouldn’t listen to any of the teachers or needed their instruction differentiated. Her time is dedicated to kids that struggle in homes and classrooms because she believes that kids who need love most ask for it in the most unloving ways.
